Lack of space and a population problem can do this. Rookie mistake - never start your trip in Delhi. It is extremely polluted and the only thing that will reverse the pollution is a full ban on diesel vehicles and acceptance of electric vehicles. Oddly never fell sick while in India with the exception of Delhi - have to wear a mask there to avoid breathing issues, and USA gave me my first and only GI problem thanks to the industrial farming standards in the country. Your article is basically a cliche of what everyone knows to avoid in India. Grew up in Mumbai and never encountered this myself. If I have a travel itinerary comprised of the worst/ most polluted/ highest level of homelessness/most occurrences of gun violence places in the USA, I'd probably have a similar outlook on that country.
I appreciate your style of writing though, pretty humorous.
